IX Vekua Cup was simultaneously held in Tbilisi, Vinnytsia, Kharkiv, Moscow, St. Petersburg and Novosibirsk. Vekua Cup consists of two stages ─ personal and team. The Ukrainian site winner is the team of VNTU _ [wRabbits]

Although the activity of academician Ilya Vekua historically took place in Georgia and Russia, the most active participants of the competition in addition to the representatives of these countries became the Ukrainian participants.

The students of Vinnytsia National Technical University have the best results among Ukrainian students in personal competitions of Vekua Cup! Unfortunately, the success of Ukrainian students is more modest in team competitions.

Trips to Batumi, Kutaisi and Tbilisi, where Vekua Cup was held other years, were very bright events. Unfortunately, now it has become difficult both organizationally and financially. So, in oder not to lose the Ukrainian participants Vekua Cup organizers decided to create The Cup sites in Ukraine.

Last year such a site was created in Vinnytsia National Technical University and this year the site in Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics has been added.

This year IX Vekua Cup contest has become the most widespread in the history of the Cup. 186 students took part in the personal stage and 142 teams took part in the team stage!

The results of Ukrainian students were following:

Mykhailo Hranik (VNTU) had the best result among Ukrainian students in the personal stage of Vekua Cup. He solved 5 tasks and was awarded a diploma of the 1st degree in general score number (of all Vekua Cup sites). He was also the winner in personal score number of Vinnytsia site;

Oleh Morfiianets (VNTU) and Oleh Kashtanov (Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics) solved 3 tasks each of them and were awarded diplomas of the 3d degree in general score number and diplomas for the 2nd place at Vinnytsia site.

Yurii Shmerchuk (VNTU), Maksym Molchanov (Odesa National Polytechnic University) and Yevhen Shcherbyna (VNTU) solved 2 tasks each of them and took the third places at Vinnytsia site.

Serhii Balhanbaiev (Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics) solved 1 task and had the best result at Kharkiv site.

Unfortunately, in the team stage of IX Vekua Cup our compatriots failed to become winners by general score number, although they were close to them.

The results at Vinnytsia site were following:

The winner is the team of VNTU _ [wRabbits] (Mykhailo Hranik, Oleh Morfiianets, Yurii Shmerchuk). They solved 5 tasks and had the best result among Ukrainian teams. The team took the 23d place in general score number, only one task wasn’t enough to get a diploma of the 3d degree in general score number.

The team ONPU_Compote (Maksym Molchanov, Oleksii Holovchuk) and the team from Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics KhNURE_United (Serhii Balhanbaiev and Oleksandr Driuk) solved 4 tasks and took the 2nd place among Ukrainian teams.

All the other top places in Ukraine were taken by the representatives of Vinnytsia site.

The second place at Vinnytsia site was won by the team of ONPU_Compote ((Maksym Molchanov, Oleksii Holovchuk) and the team KhNU_ACM (Oleh Kashtanov, Serhii Lishchuk, Volodymyr Dytyniuk). They solved 3 tasks.

The third prize winners of Vinnytsia site also solved 3 tasks. They are from Vinnytsia National Technical University:
