Olha Shcherba, the 4th year student of the specialty “Optotehnika”, took part in the world's biggest conference on optics and photonics – “SPIE OPTICS+PHOTONICS” (San Diego, California, United States)
Traditionally, since 2002 students of LOT Department (Laser and optoelectronic technology) of VNTU have successfully been competing for the right to receive the International Grant from the Society of Optics and Photonics (SPIE), which gives the right to visit free the biggest world conference on optics and photonics – “SPIE OPTICS +PHOTONICS”. This year Olha Shcherba, the fourth-year student of the speciality “Optotehnika”, has won and got the honor right to represent the scientific achievements of VNTU on this annual International Conference.
This year the event has been held on 8-12 August, in San Diego, California, United States.
It should be noted that SPIE has closely been working with VNTU for 13 years. In 2013 Rostyslav Dovhaliuk, a master of VNTU, won the right to receive a grant and in 2014 – Kostiantyn Radchenko, a post-graduate of VNTU.
And now let’s speak about the journey of Olha.

Ukraine was also represented by students from Chernivtsi National University named after Yurii Fedkovych, NTU “Kyiv Polytechnic Institute” and Kyiv National University named after T. Shevchenko.
Olha represented her scientific work at the Conference. For the third year in a row the scientific work to be presented at the Conference is carried out under the guidance of Natalia Zabolotna, a Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor of LOT Department. Students Kostiantyn Radchenko, Rostyslav Dovhaliuk, Anastasiia Krasnoshchoka and Olha Shcherba take an active part in such an activity. According to the results of the Conference an article that was included into the metric database SCOPUS was written and published.
