On December 24, at Vinnytsia National Technical University a memorial plaque was opened to student Volodymyr Mukha. The twenty-year-old young man was killed while defending Ukraine
Volodymyr Mukha, 20-year-old student of the Institute of Power Engineering and Electromechanics of VNTU, volunteer of the 24th assault battalion of special purpose “Aidar” was killed in the battle under Luhansk at dawn on July 21, 2014.
The meeting was opened by the Rector of VNTU, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Volodymyr Hrabko:
“Volodymyr was an ordinary and yet extraordinary student. I remember the conversation when he said that he would take an academic leave to defend the motherland. I was very impressed by his sacrificial patriotism. For the sake of our lives he gave his.”
“The soldiers of “Aidar” tenderly cherish the memories about Volodymyr. His things are for a mascot, says Svitlana Bevz, Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor of the Institute of Power Engineering and Electromechanics of VNTU and a fighter of the battalion “Aidar”. Volodymyr was always ready to sacrifice himself for the sake of his comrades.”
Natalia Mukha, Volodymyr’s mother, said no word. Time quenches pain. But not every pain it manages to quench.
And while sounding “Plyve kacha” Volodymyr’s sworn brothers from “Aidar” and his student friends removed a blue-yellow cloth from a granite memorial plaque.
Now Volodymyr Mukha, forever 20-year-old, friendly, smiling and so similar to an angel, will meet everybody near the building of his faculty where it — the war — prevented him to complete his training.
