Vitalii Ishchenko, Head of the Department of Ecology and Environmental Safety of Vinnytsia National Technical University, and Roman Petruk, Associate Professor of the same Department, visited Liverpool John Moores University (United Kingdom) according to the Agreement between VNTU and the British Council in Ukraine
Vitalii Ishchenko and Roman Petruk presented VNTU and the materials of researches of the Department of Ecology and Environmental Safety to professors, post-graduate students and students of Liverpool John Moores University. The presented materials caused an active discussion.
A strategy of collaboration between the universities has also been elaborated. It includes two major opportunities.
The first one is “Higher education financing (academic mobility)”, the program Erasmus+. The essence of the collaboration is the opportunity for students (primarily graduates and postgraduates) to study some time in another country (in particular, students of VNTU in Liverpool John Moores University), for teachers from Liverpool to lecture at VNTU and for teachers and researchers of VNTU to research or undergo training at Liverpool John Moores University.
The second possibility is “Maria Sklodowska-Curie, the exchange of researchers", the program Horizon 2020. It assumes the exchange of employees to research. Both universities agreed about the potential candidates for participation in the above mentioned programs.
With the help of English colleagues Vitalii Ishchenko and Roman Petruk actively studied the experience of Great Britain concerning waste management and waste sorting system.
Vitalii Ishchenko and Roman Petruk plan to use the experience and results to increase the effectiveness of training and research at the Department of Ecology and Environmental Safety of VNTU.
