IN VNTU ORDINARY STUDENTS ARE TRAINED TO BE STARTUPS AND TO PRODUCE IDEAS

On December 7 Startup school “Sikorsky Challenge” was opened in Vinnytsia National Technical University

“The current event is a new page in the history of the University and the region. Today we launch the ecosystem of startup training. We can teach students to start their own business”, said Rector of VNTU, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Volodymyr Hrabko.

Ukraine's first innovative ecosystem “Sikorsky Challenge” was created almost three years ago in the National Technical University of Ukraine “Kyiv Polytechnic Institute named after Ihor Sikorskyi”.

Startup school “Sikorsky Challenge” in VNTU is the second one. It is planned to create a network of such schools in Ukraine.

David Aryeh, Project Coordinator, Head of “Transfotech” said:

“Why is it in VNTU? This is my alma mater. I graduated from Vinnytsia Polytechnic Institute about 40 years ago. And because there is a strong scientific staff here. We have an innovative way of learning — ordinary students are trained to be startups and to produce their ideas. We live in the world where ideas are converted into products faster and faster.”

Head of Startup School, Head of the Department of Training and Production Integration of VNTU, Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor Kostiantyn Koval said that “Sikorsky Challenge” in Vinnytsia will promote the development of new modern methods of student training, will help them realize their own ideas and will facilitate their collaboration with leading business companies.

Classes at Startup School will begin in February and will last till October.
