VI International Scientific and Practical Conference “Methods and means of encoding, protection and compression of information” was dedicated to the 45th anniversary of the opening of the Department of Computer Science of Vinnytsia National Technical University.
The Department of Computer Science (now it is headed by Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Oleksii Azarov) provides training in the field of computer science and computing engineering in specialty 123 “Computer Engineering”. Its graduates work as programmers, web developers, analysts, computer engineers, administrators, system programmers and integrators; they have their own companies involved in the development of computer systems and networks, and appropriate software.
There are 6 doctoral and over 50 candidate's theses at the Department of CS.
The high personnel and scientific potential of the Department of CS allowed to create 5 more departments on its base.
So, scientists, engineers and postgraduate students from universities and research institutes from all over Ukraine came to VNTU to congratulate the venerable jubilee and at the same time to participate in the conference,.
The Ukrainian military, who are involved in the problems of the comprehensive protection of information in the military fiel, also participated in the scientific forum. One of their reports concerned cybersecurity problems for the army.
During the Conference, representatives of the Armed Forces of Ukraine signed an agreement on cooperation with the scientists of VNTU noting that it is here at Vinnytsia National Technical University where they found the developments urgently needed for the Ukrainian army.

Nearly fifty reports were presented by the authors from Ukraine, Poland, Kazakhstan, Russia, Canada
One of the reports was delivered by Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Oleksii Stakhov, Bradford, Ontario, Canada by means of the videoconference.
The best reports will be published as articles in scientific professional editions of Ukraine (“Visnyk of VPI”, “Information technologies and computer engineering”, “Proceedings of VNTU”). Published abstracts of the reports, except posters, are indexed in the science-based database of Google Scholar.
