The First Secretary of the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Ukraine Wang Datsum and the Third Secretary of the Chinese Embassy Liu Thai discussed with VNTU the details of the establishment of Confucius Institute at VNTU
Lanzhou University of Technology initiated a wide cooperation with Vinnytsia National Technical University and in particular the establishment of Confucius Institute at VNTU. This University has a century-old history and the position of the best university in Northwest China.
Last year Rector of VNTU, Honored Worker of Science and Technology of Ukraine, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Volodymyr Hrabko and Head of the Department of Philosophy, Doctor of Philosophy, Professor Oleh Khoma attended Lanzhou, the capital of Gansu Province in China, at the invitation of the President of the Technology University of Lanzhou.

During that visit the Rector of VNTU and the President of the Technology University of Lanzhou 苪 苪 元 signed an agreement on cooperation of educational institutions and discussed the prospects of cooperation. They also agreed details and stages of the establishment of the Institute of Confucius at VNTU.
The heads of Chinese and Ukrainian technical universities handed over mutually agreed documents to the Office of Confucius in Beijing.
Now the Secretary of the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Ukraine Wang Datsum, who is the head of the education department, and his colleague Liu Thai are interested in what has already done at VNTU to open Confucius Institute.
Confucius Institute is the most influential educational and cultural organization to promote the Chinese language and culture in the world. At Confucius Institute students can study the Chinese language courses and simply chat on “Chinese” topics.
In total there are around 328 branches of Confucius Institute created in the world. There are currently five of them in Ukraine.
The Chinese Language Learning Center has been working for the second year in a row at VNTU.
Volunteers – native speakers teach Chinese not only teachers and students of VNTU but also all those in Vinnytsia who are interested in Chinese. The courses focus on the preparation for the HSK and HSKK qualification exams. Therefore, listeners can both get general ideas as well as master the basic elements of the Chinese language and achieve a profound level of the language competence.
Chinese diplomats were pleased with what they had seen at VNTU and assured that they would support the establishment of Confucius Institute at VNTU.
All details such as the number of employees, the size of the necessary financial support, etc. have already been agreed upon.
Confucius Institute at VNTU will be located on the third floor of building №4 of VNTU, where the Faculty of Electric Power Engineering and Electromechanics is located.
In addition to Confucius Institute, the representatives of the Embassy of the People's Republic of China were particularly interested in the study of Chinese students at VNTU. At the end of the visit, the diplomats met with their young compatriots.
