On June 1, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Norway in Ukraine Ole Terje Horpestad opened the international center “Ukraine-Norway” at Vinnytsia National Technical University
The exquisite Ukrainian language of the Ambassador just touched:
“I’m very happy to be present at the grand opening of such a center. I’ve been waiting for this event with great interest. I've already visited Vinnytsia, the most comfortable city in Ukraine for the third time. This center is an important milestone in the development of relations with regard to the social adaptation of former military forces of our two countries under the project UKRAINE-NORWAY. Our country has been developing this project for 15 years. I like the center very much, I feel like at home — beautiful photos of the natural monuments of my country and historical places. I invite all of you to see Norway, for example, the Norwegian fjords. Next time visiting your university, I promise to give a lecture on Norway on the history of Ukrainian-Norwegian relations”.
The Ambassador presented the newly opened Center books about his country, its culture, its unique and truly wonderful nature. They will be the beginning of the Center library.
Rector of VNTU Volodymyr Hrabko:
“The cooperation of our university with Norway began with the project “Ukraine-Norway” — professional retraining and social adaptation of retired military personnel and members of their families. The implementation of this project funded by the Kingdom of Norway for several years in various specialties is held at VNTU with the assistance of the International Fund for Social Adaptation (IFSA) and the University of NORD (Budo city). Now we are opening a Ukrainian-Norwegian center that will become a bridge between our countries in terms of cultural exchange as well as the development of cooperation between the higher educational establishments of the two countries”.
The solemn ceremony was attended by Head of Vinnytsia Regional State Administration Valerii Korovii, Deputy Head of the Regional State Administration Ihor Ivasiuk, Head of Vinnytsia Regional Council Anatolii Oliinyk, and Deputy of Vinnytsia city mayor Vladyslav Skalskyi.
Serhii Kotliarevskyi, a participant in military operations, a student of the courses:
“Three months of training passed so quickly! But we got so much useful information. The program of our study included English, business organization, management and marketing, business electronic office, IT in business, psychology of success, etc. I am sure, in September, when the next course starts, my family will join this training.”
And in the evening, Vinnytsia National Technical University held a ceremonial release of military officers, members of the ATO and members of their families who had been studying at VNTU at the the three-month evening free courses under the project UKRAINE-NORWAY.
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Norway in Ukraine, Ole Terje Horpestad gave diplomas and certificates to graduates of the courses under the retraining “Entrepreneurship and information technologies in business”.
