Fifth-year student of the Institute of Ecological Safety and Environmental Monitoring Olha Ilina won the title of “Vice Miss Vinnytsia 2019” on March 3 Last year Olha also had the honorary title of “Vice Miss VNTU” at the University contest.   Students are invited to master the technique of “Design-Thinking”, the first module starts on February 22, 2019. Public union “Association of Cultural Entrepreneurship Pik-Art” invites young people from Vinnytsia region to take part in the “Design-Thinking” training course. The project “Development of innovation and creativity of youth of Podillia on the methodology “Design-Thinking” will be held in Vinnytsia for the first time. The project aims at the development of innovative and creative thinking; acquired practical skills will help young people to solve managerial problems and build their lives successfully. “Design-Thinking” is the most successful world technique for innovation that is actively used by such companies as Facebook, Google, Apple, Procter & Gamble, Samsung, IBM, and IKEA. Design-thinking courses are an integral part of the educational process at Stanford University and other leading universities in the world.

  On February 12, Vinnytsia solemnly awarded laureates of the contest “People of the Year 2018” This year there have been 35 nominations in the contest.   Vladyslav Kokushkin, a third-year student of VNTU, won the nomination “New Generation of the Year”. Vladyslav Kokushkin studies at the Department of Software of the Faculty of Information Technology and Computer Engineering. He is a multiple winner of international contests on computer graphics and web design. Vladyslav Kokushkin like all the nominees received a diploma and a statue of the laureates of the contest “People of the Year”. Head of Vinnytsia Regional State Administration Valerii Korovii presented awards to the winners.

  On February 27 at 14.00 “Career Day” starts in the assembly hall of the university The event is great. There are several locations. Information is relevant both for those who are considering where to study and for those who are looking for the first in their lives but a cool job. There will not boring long speeches. There will be quests with QR-codes and prizes, in which pupils, students and employers of Vinnytsia and Ukraine as well as lecturers will take part. There will be master classes, excursions and many other interesting things, which have not been disclosed yet. Students will present the opportunities and benefits of studying at VNTU. They will answer the questions of future entrants. The rector, the deans of the faculties, and lecturers will tell about the list of specialties (specializations), the cost of training, the opportunity to study at the Department of military training, the correspondence study, parallel study abroad under the program “Double Diploma”.  

  On March 26-27, Vinnytsia National Technical University will host the Career Fair from the BEST-Vinnytsia.   On January 27, anyone could learn how to create professionally articles in the Ukrainian Wikipedia at Vinnytsia National Technical University Information portal “My Vinnytsia” Information portal “Vinnytsia Ok” The training took place at the scientific and technical library of VNTU in the framework of the Wikimarathon-2019, which is timed to the 15th anniversary of Ukrainian Wikipedia. Last year VNTU librarians took an active part in such an event. Then during the year they actively implemented the acquired skills creating pages with articles by VNTU scientists in this popular Internet resource. Having appreciated the quality of the work done, experts from the public organization “Wikimedia Ukraine” invited  the scientific and technical library of VNTU to become a co-organizer of the wikimarathon in Vinnytsia this year.

  On January 17, Vasyl KYCHAK, Doctor of technical sciences, professor, Dean of the Faculty of Infocommunications, Radioelectronics and Nanosystems of VNTU, Honored Worker of Education of Ukraine, Academician of the Academy of Engineering Sciences of Ukraine, Academician of the International Academy of Applied Radioelectronics Celebrates his 70th anniversary He was born in the village of Sopyn, Pohrebyshche District. His father was a farmer and had three classes of education; his mother had two classes of education. So after finishing school Vasyl decided to enter Vinnytsia branch of Kyiv Polytechnic Institute; closer to his parents because they were elderly and needed care. Vasyl Kychak finished school in 1966 when the 10th and 11th forms both finished in the same year. Having stood a fierce competition, he became a student and got in the “golden hundred” because that year Vinnytsia branch of KPI enrolled only one hundred students. The most attractive specialty for him was “electronic devices”.

So, the most significant result of Professor Buriennikov to the 70th birthday is his daughter Natalia, the head of the Department of VNMU, doctor of medical sciences, professor, and his son Yurii, candidate of economic sciences, assistant professor of VNTU. Professor Buriennikov said, “My children and I have always been friends, always understood each other. We were studying, working, and relaxing together. They saw that they had to work and, therefore, used to work. I think the main things in upbringing are labor and personal example.

I heartily congratulate you on New Year's and Christmas holidays that finish our vital and labor issues in the year passing out and fill up with inspiration to new achievements in the year coming!   The well-coordinated work of our University community during the year 2018 proved that we are able to withstand competition from other universities of Ukraine and we are modern, reliable as well as progressive! We all work together a lot to implement reforms related with the modernization of education and science, provide a high level of training of specialists, support the local community, and try to make the life of our university and our city rich and interesting.
