Vinnytsia National Technical University celebrated its 55th anniversary   Traditionally VNTU’s Day is celebrated as a feast of achievements and accomplishments. And indeed, the University has lots of to be proud of.   The University is the 28th among 200 higher education institutions of the country in the rating “Top-200 Ukraine”.   VNTU is the 22nd in the consolidated ranking of universities of Ukraine.   Vinnytsia National Technical University is the 4th among the universities in the central region of Ukraine according to the rating “TOP-10. The best educational establishments of the regions of Ukraine”.   VNTU is the 17th among Ukrainian universities according to the rating of Webometrics. It’s the first time we have such a result but we still have a lot of to grow.   VNTU is the 115th in accordance with international ranking of world universities in the field of programming CodeForces. Among the Ukrainian universities VNTU is the seventh  in this field.

  The institutional repository was assigned the International Standard Serial Number ISSN. IRVNTU was connected to the world consolidated catalogue of library resources (WorldCat).   In October the electronic archive of VNTU was assigned the International Standard Serial Number ISSN. The institutional repository of VNTU was registered in ROAD (Directory of Open Access Scholarly Resources).   ROAD is Directory of Open Access Scholarly Resources, the project of the International Centre of ISSN (France) with the support of Communication and Information Sector of UNESCO (launched in 2013).   Electronic resources of VNTU repository were also connected to the world consolidated catalogue of library resources (WorldCat).   OAIster (WorldCat), 2002 is the consolidated catalogue of electronic resources, the project of the University of Michigan (the USA).

  On October 15-18, the semifinal of Student Team World Contest in programming АСМ-ІСРС has been held in Vinnytsia National Technical University for the fifth time. In Bucharest 42 teams from the Republic of Bulgaria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Republic of Macedonia, the Republic of Moldova, Romania, the Republic of Serbia and the Republic of Turkey took part in the competition.   In total 86 teams from seven countries of the South-Eastern Europe took part in the semifinal of the world contest.

  Andrii Yarovyi, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor of the Department of Computer Sciences of VNTU has got a grant of the President of Ukraine for young scientists for the third time   Being an Associate Professor, Candidate of Technical Sciences Andrii Yarovyi got his first Presidential grant in 2007.   The second grant (in 2012) he got being a doctoral student, Candidate of Technical Sciences.   This year Andrii Yarovyi has got his third Presidential grant being a Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor.   During these years the research field of Professor Yarovyi has not changed. It is high-performance parallel computing systems. But projects are improving every time. The young scientist offers new techniques, concepts and even theory. His developments contribute to the efficiency of computing processes in computer systems.   “Of course, I’m pleased to receive this grant,” says Andrii Yarovyi.

  Experts of Vinnytsia National Technical University and the design bureau “DeViRo” from Dnipropetrovsk developed a new model of unmanned combat aerial vehicle (UCAV)   Details on the website of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine Recently, the son of the President of Ukraine and the deputy of Verkhovna Rada Oleksii Poroshenko has met with soldiers of the 8th Regiment of special purpose of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and given them a new model of UCAV at the airport “Vinnytsia”.   UAV is designed to protect the borders and to create accurate topographic maps with reference to coordinate. It is quiet, transmits information in an encrypted form and is elusive for enemy radar.   Along with the drone the soldiers of special forces got a software and hardware complex for remote control, receiving and processing information from UCAV “Leleka (Stork)-100”.   The experts from Vinnytsia are working to certify and start mass production of the designed drones in the future.

  The developments of VNTU scientists have won the first place in the regional competition of educational innovative projects for the ninth consecutive year. This year the projects of professors Oleksii Azarov and Volodymyr Kozhemiako have won       The contest of educational innovative projects is organized and financially supported by Vinnytsia Regional State Administration and Regional Council. It has been held according to the Program of development of information, telecommunication and innovative technologies in educational institutions of Vinnytsia region by 2015.   The project “Information technology of practical mastery of hardware disciplines of computer field in higher education institutions of III-IV levels of accreditation” has won the first prize and a grant for UAH 35,000. The project supervisor is Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Oleksii Azarov, the dean of the Faculty of Information Technologies and Computer Engineering.

  On October 7, the staff and students of Vinnytsia National Technical University gave more than 58% of their votes for the current head of this university at the election of the Rector   Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Volodymyr Hrabko scored 429 of 735 votes and became the absolute leader of the race. Thus, there won’t be the second round.   The other four contenders for the highest position of the University had much fewer supporters:   Vasyl Petruk - 130 people Vitalii Mokin - 60 people Oleksandr Osadchuk - 29 people Yurii Yaremchuk - 25 people.   In general, 682 of 735 members of VNTU staff who had the right to vote in this election of the Rector according to the current legislation participated in the voting.   Serhii Bondarchuk, the representative of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine watched the election of the Rector of VNTU. He noted the qualitative and efficient election organization.  

  The history of our library is an integral part of the history of VNTU, which this year celebrates its 55th anniversary. After all, one of the first orders of the newly established university was the order on the foundation of a library   Today a scientific and technical library of Vinnytsia National Technical University having passed a difficult path of development is the main structural division of the university.   Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Volodymyr Hroisman met students and professors of the University   “I’m very pleased to be present at this university that I greatly respect. Everything that we were able to realize in many areas of life in Vinnytsia is due to the Technical University. We were able to create transparent Vinnytsia, which is a serious example to many municipalities. We reformed a transport system in the city.   This large-scale environmental forum at Vinnytsia National Technical University is held every 2 years. This year nearly two hundred delegates and about a hundred free listeners participate in it.
