All-Ukrainian network of Gender Education Centers of universities started the project “Gender mainstriming in higher educational institutions of Ukraine”       Gender Research and Education Center of Vinnytsia National Technical University joined the project supported by the Embassy of Finland in Ukraine. The project implements gender audit in higher educational institutions. Fifteen universities from 10 regions of Ukraine are involved into the project. An action was initiated by Sumy State University, which VNTU has concluded a cooperation agreement with.   The main purpose of the project is to contribute to the achievement of gender equality and gender approaches in Ukrainian universities.   The implementation of the project as a whole and the procedure of the gender audit in particular will be beneficial not only for the university staff and students but also for the administration. As practice proves the quality of work and studies in a gender-sensitive university is considerably improved.

  In the ranking “Webometrics” Vinnytsia National Technical University is the 17th among Ukrainian universities having raised to seven positions since the previous rankings   VNTU entered into the Top-20 Webometrics Ukraine. Such a high place in the ranking our University has never occupied yet. Ranking Web of Universities   The research group Cybermetrics Lab under the supervision of the Higher Convocation for Scientific Research (Spain) published a world ranking of universities of Webometrics in July 2015. It includes 295 Ukrainian higher educational institutions.   Now VNTU occupies 3458 place annually improving its position in the international ranking of world universities.

  Diana Slobodianiuk, a fifth-year student of the Department of Finance of Vinnytsia National Technical University, studies according to the curriculum of academic mobility “Double diploma” at the Faculty of Management, Marketing and Entrepreneurship of Lublin University of Technology ─ Wydziale Zarządzania Politechnika Lubelska. After graduating from the university the girl will receive two diplomas ─ one of VNTU and one of the Polish University   The third year in a row, students of VNTU have the opportunity to obtain the diploma of the foreign university in parallel with national one. This year 14 people ─ future programmers, power engineers, managers, builders, environmentalists, mechanical engineers, metrologists and experts in laser and optoelectronic technology went to Poland.   The girl says: “It is not easy to learn, subjects are taught in Polish or English. A very large array of material should be mastered. We, Ukrainian students, take our exams on the same requirements as the Poles.

  Kseniia Morhunova, a 3rd year student, won the international competition of designers CorelDRAW® 2015. This is the most prestigious world competition because it is held by a world leader in the field of vector graphics   Kseniia Morhunova, a 3rd year student of the Faculty of Management, won the first place in the nomination “Student work” of the contest CorelDRAW® 2015, held by the company Corel (Ottawa, Canada).   As a reward the girl received software products valued $ 4,700 from the Corel Corporation as well as prizes from the sponsors.   Students of the Web design and computer graphics studio that works at the Faculty of Information Technology and Computer Engineering received more than 400 victories at international competitions of near and far abroad in 2014. Kseniia’s achievements are significant.   Now she is preparing new works for new contests. At the same time Kseniia already works as a designer ─ has orders from several firms to develop logos and specialized images.

  Olha Shcherba, the 4th year student of the specialty “Optotehnika”, took part in the world's biggest conference on optics and photonics – “SPIE OPTICS+PHOTONICS” (San Diego, California, United States)   Traditionally, since 2002 students of LOT Department (Laser and optoelectronic technology) of VNTU have successfully been competing for the right to receive the International Grant from the Society of Optics and Photonics (SPIE), which gives the right to visit free the biggest world conference on optics and photonics – “SPIE OPTICS +PHOTONICS”. This year Olha Shcherba, the fourth-year student of the speciality “Optotehnika”, has won and got the honor right to represent the scientific achievements of VNTU on this annual International Conference.   This year the event has been held on 8-12 August, in San Diego, California, United States.   It should be noted that SPIE has closely been working with VNTU for 13 years.

  More than a thousand freshmen of Vinnytsia National Technical University started their student life   Blessings into a new life they received yesterday on the solemn dedication of students of VNTU.   The festival began with the hoisting the State flag of Ukraine. Traditionally, this honorable act was carried out by freshmen Iryna Vernyk, Maryna Prytula and Oleksii Khnykin.   Rector of VNTU, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor, Volodymyr Hrabko   welcomed freshmen:   “Dear freshman, you join to a large family of Vinnytsia National Technical University. Our University has such achievements that glorify not only Vinnytsia but the whole Ukraine. It is in Vinnytsia, namely in VNTU where the semifinal of the World Championship of student is held. This year these prestigious World competitions will be held on October 16-18.

  Volodymyr Mesiura, Professor of the  Department of Computer Sciences of Vinnytsia National Technical University has been awarded with the title “Person of the Year” in the nomination "Scientist"   Not only VNTU and Vinnytsia but also all Ukraine owe Professor MESIURA that this year will be the World Championship semifinal of student programming for the fifth time in a row in our country. Thanks to the efforts of Volodymyr Mesiura Vinnytsia has got the right to the semifinal of the World Championship of student programming ACM – ICPC simultaneously with the final All-Ukrainian Student Olympiad in programming. These large-scale competitions will be held in VNTU in October.   At the beginning of 2015 the talented teacher got the highest educational award — Kostiantyn Ushynskyi medal for significant achievements and personal contribution into development of Ukrainian education.
