This is the seventh scientific journal published inVNTU Vinnytsia National Technical University is launching a scientific journal “Visnyk of Machine Building and Transport” realizing the importance of these industries for Ukraine according to the present situation.   The site of the journal “Visnyk of Machine Building and Transport” is vmt.vntu.edu.ua Here you can read the journal content and abstracts of the articles published in its first issue.   Chief Editor of the journal, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor, Rector of the Vinnytsia National Technical University Volodymyr Hrabko said in his speech to the authors and readers of the journal:   “Everybody involved in the founding of the “Visnyk of Machine Building and Transport” realize that the scientific community certainly requires a specialized scientific-practical edition highlighting urgent problems of formation and development of these industries in Ukraine.

  The consolidated ranking of higher educational institutions of Ukraine in 2015 includes 286 universities of the III-IV accreditation levels   The university rankings, which are the most authoritative among experts and the media, have been used as the source data for the consolidated ranking of higher educational institutions of Ukraine and published in 2015: “Top-200 Ukraine”, “Scopus” and “Webometrics”, each of which uses different criteria for the assessment of higher education institutions.   The consolidated ranking of higher educational institutions of Ukraine in 2015 is compiled by the Osvita.ua site.   Vinnytsia National Technical University is the 22nd in the consolidated ranking.   Vinnytsia National Medical University is the 63rd.   Vinnytsia National Agrarian University is the 109th.   Vinnytsia State Pedagogical University named after M. Kotsiubynskyi and Lviv National Music Academy named after M. Lysenko share 147-148th positions.   Vinnytsia Trade and Economic Institute is the 211st.

  On July 7, there was the presentation of the Ranking results of the transparency of national universities in Vinnytsia in 2015 conducted by the analytical center CEDOS   On July 7, there was the presentation of the Ranking results of the transparency of national universities in Vinnytsia in 2015 conducted by the analytical center CEDOS in the period from October 2014 to March 2015. The aim of the ranking was to find the best transparency practice and inform students, teachers and community of national universities in oder to learn from that  practice.   “The term “transparency” in the Ranking concerns exactly to the access to information. The high position of the university in the Ranking does not mean that the university has no corruption or bribery, that the leadership pursues a transparent administrative policy or that the quality of education is higher than in the universities having lower positions in the Ranking” – explained Yehor Stadnyi, Executive Director of CEDOS.

  Institutional repository of VNTU (IR VNTU) has been registered in the International Registry of Open Access Repositories ROAR to increase citations of authors of the university and to include them into the world information resources   Registry of Open Access Repositories (ROAR) is located at the Department of Electronics and Computer Science at the University of Southampton. There are more than four thousand items of institutional, thematic and sector-based repositories, electronic journals and databases in the archive. The goal of ROAR is to promote the development of open access by providing timely information about the growth and status of repositories around the world. Search through the ROAR is an additional way of finding information in open access archives, where it is possible to search simultaneously in all repositories.

  At the meeting of the Scientific Council of Vinnytsia National Technical University Kzysztof Sviderek, Consul General of Poland in Vinnytsia, received a diploma of Honorary Professor of VNTU   The title of Honorary Professor of VNTU was awarded to Kzysztof Sviderek by the decision of the Scientific Council of the University.   Kzysztof Sviderek is the Consul General of Poland in Vinnytsia. He was born in Lower Seleziyi near Wroclaw, where he finished a primary school. Then he graduated from Wroclaw High School of Aviation. Mr Sviderek received higher education abroad. He visited more than 100 countries. Everywhere he was engaged in promotion of Poland ─ Polish science, culture, inventions, products.   Rector of VNTU, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Volodymyr Hrabko awarded a diploma and certificate that confirm this importan title to Mr Sviderek at the Scientific Council of the university.

  At the Department of Electromechanical Systems of Automation in Industry and Transport of VNTU students have carried out interuniversity complex diploma projects and defended them on-line by means of the Internet for the fifth consecutive year. This year an interfaculty complex diploma project has also been carried out     Traditionally, during the diploma designing students carry out a joint research work, which involves the exchange of experiences and increasing specialists’ capacity.   In 2015 the interuniversity complex diploma project has been carried out by a student of Kremenchug National University named after Mykhailo Ostrohradskyi (Olha Gerasymenko, a supervisor ─ Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor D. Rodkin) and by a student of Vinnytsia National Technical University (Oleh Konstantinov, a supervisor ─ Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor S. Levytskyi).

  Yesterday Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Switzerland in Ukraine Christian Schoenenberger had a meeting with the Administration and students of Vinnytsia National Technical University   At the meeting with the leadership of the University, Mr. Schoenenberger expressed his satisfaction with the establishing of the cooperation between Vinnytsia National Technical University and representatives of the higher education in Switzerland. For example, in May euroexpert of the Swiss Corps experts SWISSCONTACT Franz Stalder has held the scientific seminar “Management of Waste, Resources and Energy Saving. The European experience” for students-environmentalists of VNTU for the second year.   The Swiss scholar-diplomat has got interested in that fact that in October this year the semifinal of students’ team world championship in programming АСМ-ІСРС (International Collegiate Programming Contest) will take place in VNTU for the fifth time.

  Students of the Faculty of Machine Building and Transport Engineering of VNTU educated irresponsible pedestrians and drivers on the main street of Vinnytsia   Students of the Faculty of Machine Building and Transport Engineering of Vinnytsia National Technical University, together with the Traffic Police, held a campaign “Responsibility starts with yourself”.   Dean of the Faculty of Machine Building and Transport Engineering of VNTU, Professor Yurii Buriennikov said that the students of VNTU would constantly hold the campaign “Responsibility starts with yourself”. Moreover, from now on they would join every time to preventive measures that would be held by the Traffic Police in the streets of Vinnytsia.   In addition, students have a creative idea to shoot videos with the rules of the road.   For now, they have handed ignorant pedestrians leaflets with information about the basic rules of behavior on the road and the mortality statistics under the wheels.

  Kateryna Bilokonna, Olha Savitska and Maksym Huz, master degree students of VNTU, are among a hundred of scholarship students of the program “Zavtra.UA” First-year master degree students of VNTU Kateryna Bilokonna (Faculty of Information Technologies and Computer Engineering), Olha Savitska (Faculty of Management) and Maksym Huz (the Faculty of Radio Engineering, Telecommunication and Electronic Instrument Engineering) have become scholarship students of the program “Zavtra.UA”.   They are among a hundred of Ukrainian students who will receive a scholarship “Zavtra.UA” during the year.   Overall rating list of the participants of The Ninth Contest-2014/15 Scholarship program “Zavtra.UA”   Recently Kateryna Bilokonna, Olha Savitska and Maksym Huz have received the invitation of Victor Pinchuk Foundation for the ceremony of awarding the winners of educational programs “WorldWide Studies” and “Zavtra.UA” with the participation of the honored guest Tony Blair, the Prime Minister of Great Britain (1997-2007).

    Last week a national stage of European engineering competition EBEC 2015 was held in Vinnytsia National Technical University   Teams from Lviv, Kyiv, Zaporizhzhia and Vinnytsia competed for the right to represent Ukraine at the European final in Porto (Portugal). Thirty-two students competed in two categories: Case Study (analytic tasks) and Team Design (design and simulation). They also solved creative and at the same time challenging engineering tasks.   The organizers of the event are students who are members of the Board of European Students of Technology (BEST) ─ the Council of students of technical universities in Europe. Local branches of the BEST unit 96 universities in 33 European countries.   At Design Team category teams got the task for three days ─ to build a Gauss gun.
