VNTU AND 6 OTHER UKRAINIAN UNIVERSITIES RECEIVE 120 MILLION EUR TO ENHANCE POWER EFFICIENCY

The European Investment Bank will provide 120 million euros to enhance power efficiency at Ukrainian universities. This Financial agreement between Ukraine and the EIB was ratified by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on November 8 The project was initiated and developed by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine jointly with the EIB to help Ukrainian universities utilize power more efficiently. According to the agreement, the total cost of the project is 160 million euros. The EIB provides the loan in 120 million, the investment grant from the Fund of the Eastern Partnership in Energy Efficiency and Environment (E5P) is 10 million, and the North Environmental Finance Corporation (NEFCO) has agreed to loan the rest 30 million. Loan funds are given for 20 years with a 5-year grace period.

On November 4-5, the annual intellectual gaming festival “Boyunale-2017” was held at Vinnytsia National Technical University.     Information portal “My Vinnytsia” Information portal “Vinnytsia Ok”   Traditionally, the event was timed to the Day of the Ukrainian written and literature language. VNTU Smart Club Community “Bayun” with the support of Vinnytsia regional association of T.H. Shevchenko All-Ukrainian society “Prosvita” organized this event.   Traditionally, anchorman of the festival, chairman of Vinnytsia regional association of T.H. Shevchenko All-Ukrainian society “Prosvita”, director of the Educational Work Center of VNTU, candidate of philosophical sciences, associate professor Anatolii Tekliuk fed “Boyunale-2017” with his positive energy and inexhaustible creativity.   Thirty-one teams from Kyiv, Rivne, Ternopil, Ivano-Frankivsk, Chernivtsi, Lviv, and Vinnytsia took part in the intellectual gaming tournament.

  VI International Scientific and Practical Conference “Methods and means of encoding, protection and compression of information” was dedicated to the 45th anniversary of the opening of the Department of Computer Science of Vinnytsia National Technical University. Educational portal PedPRESSA Information portal “Vinnytsia Ok”   The Department of Computer Science (now it is headed by Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Oleksii Azarov) provides training in the field of computer science and computing engineering in specialty 123 “Computer Engineering”. Its graduates work as programmers, web developers, analysts, computer engineers, administrators, system programmers and integrators; they have their own companies involved in the development of computer systems and networks, and appropriate software.   There are 6 doctoral and over 50 candidate's theses at the Department of CS.   The high personnel and scientific potential of the Department of CS allowed to create 5 more departments on its base.

  Postgraduate student of the Department of Computer Science of the Faculty of the Information Technology and Computer Engineering Tetiana Polhul took part in the conference “F8: Facebook Developer Conference” held in San Jose, California (United States) Тетяні вдалося дізнатися про нові тенденції розвитку інформаційних технологій, а також зустрітися з кафедри комп'ютерних наук, які працюють у Facebook та Google, а також із засновником Facebook – Марком Цукербергом!   The theme of her dissertation deals with BigData technologies and the intellectual analysis of data, so it is Silicon Valley where such themes are just in trend.

  On October 26, the XVI International Scientific and Technical Conference “Vibration in Engineering and Technologies” started at VNTU. This forum is dedicated to the 70th anniversary of Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Rostyslav Iskovych-Lototskyi   Rostyslav Iskovych-Lototskyi is the Head of the Department of mechanical engineering industry of Vinnytsia National Technical University. Fifty-two years of his life are dedicated to VNTU! Here he was a student, a postgraduate student, and a candidate of Technical Sciences. Now he is the Head of the scientific school “Theory of calculation and design of vibrating and vibrating-shocking processes and machines”, which trained 2 doctors and 15 candidates of Technical Sciences. He is the author of more than 200 scientific papers, patents, monographs and manuals.   Recently Professor of VNTU Leonid Polishchuk has defended his doctoral thesis at this scientific school.

  Historical and philosophical journal “Sententiae” has been included into the SCOPUS database Founder and editor-in-Chief of the scientific philosophical journal of the Union of Modern Philosophy Researchers (Pascal Society) “Sententiae”, Doctor of Philosophy, Head of the Department of Philosophy and Humanities of Vinnytsia National Technical University, Professor Oleh Khoma says,   “Automatic author profiles: https: //www.scopus.com/freelookup/f ... have been created in the system for all our authors who have publications since №1 2015. When the Editorial Board personally verifies the journal is displayed in the database (we have to get a prepaid access to the system), we will officially announce the completion of the technical connection of our journal to SCOPUS.   I want to express my deep gratitude to the Editorial Board members and the reviewers whose unselfish and thorough work has provided the scientific level that we have now!   Publication in “Sententiae” will remain free of charge.

On October 3, on the 57th anniversary of Vinnytsia National Technical University, General Director of PC “Vinnytsiaoblenergo” Andrii Polishchuk visited his native alma-mater     There he met with professors and students of the Faculty of Electric Power Engineering and Electromechanics, in particular, the Dean of the Faculty Vasyl Leontiev and the former Dean of the Faculty Mykola Svyrydov.   At the of power stations and systems Andrii Polishchuk spoke with its head, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Petro Lezhniuk and lectured students of this department. Before that, Petro Lezhniuk introduced Andrii Polishchuk to future energy specialists, “Andrii Polishchuk is our graduate, our pride. On such an outstanding day for our university, faculty and department he is again with us.”   Andrii Polishchuk thanked for such attention and began his lecture, “First of all I want to say I am proud to have studied here.

VNTU IS AMONG THE WINNERS OBTAINING ACCESS TO SCOPUS AND WEB OF SCIENCE

  VNTU is the only university in Vinnytsia that will have access to Scopus and Web of Science simultaneously On February 2017, Scientific and Technical Library of VNTU carried out an online survey of scientists, post-graduate students and students of the University regarding the need to obtain SCOPUS and Web of Science metadata databases for the University. Eighty-eight percent of respondents answered positively.   The list of winners that will have access to Scopus and the Web of Science was approved by the order of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine № 1286 dated 19.09.2017 “On granting access to higher educational institutions and scientific institutions, which are uder the management of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, to electronic scientific databases”. VNTU is among these winners!   Soon, each scientist of VNTU will have the opportunity to use the resources provided by Scopus and Web of Science databases via the Library of VNTU.

INNOVATIVE BUSINESS CLUB WILL BE CREATED IN VINNYTSIA

  “An innovative business club will be created in Vinnytsia,” said Ihor Peer, an international IT business expert, founder and CEO of Open Innovation Incubator Be Next IT (Israel) at the opening ceremony of the Days of Innovation at the Startup School Sikorsky Challenge in Vinnytsia   TRC Vinnychchyna TV Channel VITA TRC “VINTERA”   Sikorsky Challenge Innovation Ecosystem, a co-founded of which is Ihor Peer, will hold regional Days of Innovation in Vinnytsia, Dnipro, Mariupol, Kharkiv and Kyiv.   Ukraine's first Startup School Sikorsky Challenge was created three years ago at National Technical University of Ukraine “Kyiv Polytechnic Institute named after Ihor Sikorsky”.   Vinnytsia Startup School Sikorsky Challenge, which operates at Vinnytsia National Technical University, is the second one.   Last academic year, 70 of its students successfully completed training at VNTU under the tutelage of business coach Ihor Peer. They not only develop their innovative ideas but also investigated the potential market.

THE CHINESE LANGUAGE COURSES START AT VNTU

  September 18, Vinnytsia National Technical University re-start the Chinese language courses. As it was last year, volunteers – native speakers will teach Chinese. Not only teachers and students of VNTU are invited but also all those in Vinnytsia who are interested in Chinese Four Chinese language teachers have already arrived to Vinnytsia from China.   The Government of the People’s Republic of China seleced these teachers, volunteers with higher philological education. The training is under the “New Chinese Practical Course” officially recommended by the Department of the People’s Republic of China to promote the Chinese language abroad. Courses are focused on the program for preparing to the certified exam in Chinese for foreigners. Students can both get general knowledge and master the basic elements of the Chinese language, and achieve a comprehensive level of linguistic competence. Most of the volunteer-teachers are English-speaking, so learning the basics of Chinese you can also improve your English.
